DRA on the listing of EPDE and IESC as "undesirable" organisations

The German-Russian Exchange (DRA) declares solidarity with EPDE and IESC, and their striving to promote independent non-governmental international election observation, which can contribute to the legitimacy of fair elections. DRA protests against the prohibition of the organisations in Russia and asserts in the statement that the activities of EPDE and its member organisations must be ensured in Russia as well as in all European countries. It is also calling on the media to publicize this repression of the NGO network, so that it receives international coverage.

Human rights activist Yuri Dzhibladze is quoted in the statement as saying:

"I'm worried that Golos will have to leave the network, and its experts will have to halt their cooperation with EPDE under the threat of prosecution. It's a shame, not a state!"
